even rehearsing something so small feels so good.
Day 124 (Thursday, May 3)
Showcase: the stage lights.
Woo. My majorwork came home yesterday… i couldn’t wait till it was dark to take photos of it with the lights on… expect many more!
This was our wonderfully dark stage design for the play “Krabat” which premiered yesterday.
We had so much fun and it was just incredible how ridiculously happy I am about it.
Can’t wait for this massive tour to hit the states.
Saving up my pennies now.
;)
Saw this at work and decided to take a picture of it. LOVE!
Les Misérables
Last week I was asked to provide a set for Les Misérables for the Monterey High school choir department here in Lubbock. The school is my Alma mater and the director, Ms. Billett, is a dear friend. Since I have designed in this theatre several times before, I am aware of the advantages and pitfalls of the space. These army parachutes have become an old standby for me. They are malleable enough to morph into any number of shapes and textures. Special thanks to Mariah Hensen for her photography, and Tim Walsh and Justin Duncan for the beautiful drop.
